      The purposes of this study were 1) To design and create the Multimedia for Packaging Design learning course. 2)To study the efficiency of Multimedia to package design teaching.The sampling group was done by 40 students in vocational certificate level who study in packaging design of Art faculty of Chiang Mai Vocational College with the methodology of onegroup pre-test and post-test design. the instruments which used in this study consisted of 1)The application of Multimedia for Packaging Design. 2) The efficiency of the Multimedia for Packaging Design Questionnaire and 3) The performance assessment from of Multimedia for Packaging Design.

Development of 3D Animation by Applying 2D Animation Techniques

      The Objection to study human perception and to develop 3D animation media by applying 2D animation techniques. The researcher had designed animation in each action of character such as walking and running. The design was alike the animation in common 2D flash game. The researcher developed 2D animation to be more virtual reality and also designed 3D character and 3D screen by using perception and communication theory to specify each presentation, to get the animation which promoted the effective learning of watching 2D to be 3D and to be more interesting. There were evaluation forms which were evaluated by 3 content and design experts and 20 graduate students in academic year 2009 who were interested in playing games. The students were divided into 2 groups, 10 students each. And they got the evaluation form to compare the 2D and 3D animation.

      The result of the study showed that most smokers feel satisfied with the sahtray designed according to data collected preciously and understand the purposes of the campaign. They leaved cigarette butt at the proper place because of its attraction. The ashtray affects their perception from rather only an ashtray which denote only as an ashtray, but using the ashtray as the campaign to convey the connotation about leaving cigarette butt at the proper place is a quite successful mean, It can be concluded that product design such as this can help create meaning and learning campaign for smokers to be more responsible to our environment.

      The objective of this independent study was to analyze the symbol and the information demand on website of the Hmong Doi Pui Village to promote tourism. The population samples were picked out from the tourists whose nationality were both Thai and foreigners in addition to the Hmong hill-tribe people of the Doi Pui Village. The goal was to obtain essential information in creating a website to promote tourism at the Doi Pui Hmong Village. The analysis has been studied under the framework of semiotics, cultural tourism, marketing, website design concept and the mass-media theory.

Development of Chinese Language Instructional Media for Chiang Mai University Students Taking Intermediate Chinese Language

        This independent study has 2 objective which are 1) to design and develop Chinese language instructional media by using multimedia technology and 2) to measure the achievement of the instructional media. The research is an experimental research, The result showed that 1) the design of Chinese language instructional media which conform to learning and develop by multimedia technology could help the intermediate Chinese language students to be more comprehend, remember and revise their knowledge easily. The good instructional media should have some features that help the students to reach the information easily and rapidly. 2) The achievement of the instructional media showed that the score from the post-test was more that the score from pre-test. It also showed that the learning conditions which students can reach to the information easily and asses rapidly could help the students to be more comprehend in studying Chinese language by using the multimedia instrustional media.

Development of Animation Media for Ecotourism Campaign

After an evaluation, the acerage of all assessment is "4" which means "Satisfy". And from the comment, it shows that the media can teach the students to be more caring in the conservation and emvironment of the tourist attraction.

Design of Educational Website for History
Study: A Case Study on In the Vicinity of

        The purposes of this study were to study the Educational Website Design for History Study and to comprehend the web design processes that appropriate for the subjects.
The processes of this study consisted of the collecting data from interviewing of the author of the "Vicinity of Chiangmai Research" (Assoc. Prof. Usanee Thongchai), and study from researches and documents related to the topic. The web development was based on 5 procedures; researching involved factor, analyzing audience, designing information architecture, functional design and visual design. The study was done by using a questionnaire with a group of 25 students majoring in history, Humanity department, Chiang Mai University for their satisfaction opinion with the design of website.
The result has been shown in high satisfaction because of the identity design in each web page, which is easily to get through and conduct to the Chiang Mai history.

Design and Development for
Constellations Classroom and
Constellations Information System

         In this study, we design and develop Constellations Classroom and Constellations Information System in the form of exhibition. The study based on the idea of the Information Design in the Informal Settings : Museums and Other Public Spaces, the idea of Art and Exhibition Design and the idea of Multimedia and Graphic Design.
        The methods of this study consist of the interview with people who get involved with astronomy learning processes and the student's opinion questionnaire. From the information that has been collected in those two methods, there are 3 kinds of media that need to be shown in the exhibition. First is the Zodiac multimedia, 12 Zodiac Sculpture and 12 pictures of the Art of Zodiac.

Evaluation of Symbolic Perception on
Traffic Signs in Chiang Mai University

       The purpose of this study was to evaluate the symbolic perception on traffic signs in Chiang Mai University. Population and sampling by using 360 of 1th bachelor's students, Chiang Mai University for the first semester of 2006. We found that most of the students don't using symbolic traffic signs for driving. the reasons for not using are the symbolic traffic signs are damaged and cover by tree. Most of students watching some symbolic traffic signs, interesting and  knowledge in middle level but using data from symbolic traffic signs for driving in high level. Students' attitude for whole of symbolic traffic signs were in middle.Sex and driving character of students relevant to symbolic perception on traffic signs and symbolic attitude on traffic signs. Evaluation of symbolic perception on traffic signs in Chiang Mai University were in middle level.

Evaluation of Wayfinding in Chiang Mai University

      The purpose of this study was to evaluation wayfinding in Chiangmai University, sampling by using 1th bachelor's students, Chiang Mai University for the first semester of 2006. We found that most of the students using signs for driving, interesting and knowing in middle level but using in high level. Factor for way finding were shape and size of destination, number of people in area, road and sign. 
     About their perception and attitude: most of the students were male, driving motorcycles every day and don't using signs for driving because not sign. Most of reasonable for using signs was lose the way. Most of the students watching some signs, interesting and  knowledge in middle level and using data from symbolic traffic signs for driving in low level. The students' attitudes for whole of signs were in middle, signs in Chiang Mai University were important for driving of road-user. Symbolic traffic signs must watche in the night was in low level.

Attitude Towards Fengshui Laws Graphic Design in Contemporary Business in Thailand

         The study aimed to investigate attitude and satisfactions towards to used fengshui to design graphic by internet technology and accumulate suggestion from user for the purpose of used the fengshui to design graphic. This research system assemble by questionnaire and interview requirement of user on graphic design by fengshui in website, used fengshui to design graphic for user and design website e-fengshuidesign.com by fengshui, perform experiment with 10 user afterwards investigate user attitude and satisfactions. The result of this study showed that most users have good attitude towards to used fengshui to design graphic and internet fengshui graphic design servant. User satisfactions towards to standard of graphic design by fengshui and differ from general.

Development of 3D Animation for Chemistry Learning on Basic Solid State

       In order to aid the teaching and learning process in the introductory solid state chemistry, the 3D animation has been developed. The context was specifically on the close packing of rigid sphere. The user interface was designed and created. It was based on the information design principle, in a similar fashion to the commercialized DVD movies. The instruction media principle was adapted according to the user's desire, whereas the principle of 3D animation was employed during the model production, texture design, scene light adjustment and the movement design. Dimensionality of the objects and the view detail were optimized. In addition, the perception theory was used in defining the view and presentation style. The evaluation, using the questionnaires, of the created 3D media was conducted in comparison with the formerly used 2D teaching media. From the survey of 50 industrial chemistry students, registering the course 203211 of the Chemistry Department, Chiang Mai University in the academic term of 3/2549, it was statically evident that the 3D animation was better than the 2D media in nearly every aspect, including teaching contents, media constituents and effectiveness.

       There are three main objectives of this research program. The first step is to study the media management construction in The Stock Exchange of Thailand. The second is to make the understanding of this media management construction for investor. And the final step is to propose the results of this study to the investors for picking the data from the informatics system in order to be a choice of investment. This study was performed only within the stock brokerage house, Muang district, Chiang Mai which was the member of The Stock Exchange of Thailand.
The results showed that there are two kinds; the formal and the informal, of media management constructions in The Stock Exchange of Thailand. The first is the structure performing upon the regulation and enactment that the SET stipulates. The second is the same structure as the first but there are several differences between the two; the presentation time and the accuracy of the media contents from senders. The channels of the informal media are quite limit and the investors that the senders specify to inform are quite the small group.

The Study and Development of Multi-media to Supplement Sunday School Teaching for Kindergarten Children

       The purposes of this study were to study the forms of instructional multi-media used in a pre-schooling class in Christian Study, as well as to compare the achievement of learning skills of the pre-schooling children in Christian Study before and after the usage of the multi-media. The subjects of this study were 15 children aged between 3 – 5 years, attending the Sunday School at Phrapornchai Church, Amphoe MaeRim in Chiang Mai Province, which is under the supervision of the Christian Church of Thailand.
The study revealed that the achievement of using the created multi-media in teachings and learning was as hypothesized. Children in the class of Sunday School were interested in as well as having responsive behavior toward the presentation of the media. The multi-media could help creating the motivation in the public relations to attract the children to the Sunday School class. The viewers of the presented multi-media expressed their opinions that the media were the most appropriate for the children's learning, and tended to be significant teaching media in Sunday School class for small children.

An Analysis of Pattern and Content of Monthly Free Magazines in Chiang Mai

       The purpose of this study was to analyse the pattern and content of monthly free magazines in Chiang Mai. Sampling by using 400 of students, Chiang Mai University for the summer semester of 2006. The results showed that the pattern and content of monthly free magazines were A4 size, artcard's paper were front and rear cover , not over 80 page, monthly issue, cover changing by content, using Thai and English language, advertising and content were 30:70 by inserting between page and offset printing. And the content of monthly free magazines were entertainment and relaxing in the first, life -healthy and technology, respectively.

Analysis of Mobile Phone Icon Perception

       This study has 3 main objectives, which are to assess icon perception on mobile phone; to study and develop icon design guideline; and to study overview of icon perception. Research participants are Master of Media Arts & Design, Chiang Mai University students composed of males and females age between 20-35 year old. The results of this study imply that icons best communicate the meaning are those participants felt easy to understand and looks realistic. Each icon should contain its own uniqueness while represent the meaning that should not cause confusion in translation. An icon image is preferred to be an easy outline with Distortion effects or an easy graphic draft line with more than one component. There are three common confusions found causing misinterpretation which are 1) Confusion caused by an identical of shape; 2) Confusion caused by identical imagination; and 3) Confusion caused by icon functional usage. The meaning interpretation of an icon, however, depends on different factors such as the users' experiences, visual senses as well as factors derive from expectation, emotion, stimulant during the interpretation of the icon's meanings.

Comparison of the Achievement Between 3-D Model and Model Presentations on Buying Decision of Real Estate Housing

       The objectives of this study are to study and compare the Achievement Between 3-D Model and Model Presentations on Buying Decision of Real Estate Housing, to study the factors that effected perception of the three dimensions Model and Model and to study the factors that effected consumer's purchasing decisions in perception of three - dimension media.
In this research, the primary data were collected by using questionnaires with 40 samples who wanted to buy houses in Chiang Mai province.
It revealed that (1) the perception in 3-D model presentations has influenced the respondents to have better perception than in model presentations. (2) The study also showed that with colors and the virtual reality of the environment inside the house by 3-D model presentation bring more satisfaction to the respondents than model presentations. As a result, higher satisfaction received from 3-D model presentation and information expression by the method have better influence on buying decision of real estate housing than in model presentation.

Interior Design Guideline of a Service

       This independent study aimed to understand the main components to create satisfied atmosphere and environment of the office, to understand appropriate design that is suit for activities and available space in the office and to design virtual environment for the interior space that satisfy and match requirements of clients.
The study found that occupation of clients and position of users are influenced to an interior design and decoration in the service office at a significant level of 95%
According to study on the basic architectural information to be used as a factor in the interior design of the Service Office, the officers and customers were satisfied with the selection of the colors, tones, airy and relax atmosphere, and smooth surface of furniture, respectively. In addition, the study on the information regarding to the requirement on the interior environment in the Service Office showed that the officers and customers prefer changes in the following aspects: pleasurable interior decoration, modernized interior design, more natural lighting, and expansions of the service area for comfort.

      The objectives of the research was to study the creation process of social space of ethnic groups at FM 99 MHz. community radio station, to study method of ethnic group's program presentation through FM 99 MHz. community radio station and to study participation process of ethnic groups' program at FM 99 MHz. community radio station. The main issue of this study was to know the connotation of communication process.
The study of the creation process of social space of ethnic groups (Shan, The Pga K'nyau, Hmong) was found that all three ethnic groups' social space creation process has some social and political meaning behind their communication process. These volunteers inspire other ethnic groups to turn their interests on using community radio media, but these processes have no operational format and social participation for building a long lasting stability for all ethnic groups from two-way communication through community radio media.

Information Design Cooperating with Media Management for Travelers Using Chiang Mai International Airport Services

       The aims of this research are to study the necessary information requirement of travelers who use Chiang Mai International airport. Travelers are both Thais and foreigners. Information is collected and gathered by talking, observing, questionnaire and recording from travelers and others involved. Then the results are taken to design process, to design information in cooperation with media management for travelers. Then the model structure is developed and to make the model of information design cooperate with appropriate media management.
The results of the study reveal that travelers need the following information on Chiang Mai which is arranged by the degrees of importance: history, geography, climate, ecology/ environment and flora/ fauna. The information chosen for Chiang Mai travel includes highlight, suggested itineraries, transportation, accommodation and internet respectively. The information service types are listed here according to their levels of importance: personal helping, information service center, hard media and computer service in each area. The hard media containing the travel information, document/brochure in 20 point size of character, were selected first mobile phone second downloading and computer notebook downloading third. All of the hard media mentioned above contain information that travelers are able to receive before arriving or while arriving to Chiang Mai. The most appropriate information media for travelers after leaving Chiang Mai is online media, e.g. website. Moreover, online media can be used before and while arriving as well. The travelers expected that the information can be downloaded into their digital devices and brought with them during the trip. Other than that, it can be used as the communication channel between the terminal and travelers also.

Development of Contemporary Comics Creating Process : A Case Study of the Fighting Stag Beetle

       The purpose of the study is to develop a contemporary comics creating process: A case study of the fighting stag beetle. This study is an experimental study by creating contemporary comics that not only aims the readers to understand the culture and tradition of fighting stage beetle, but also aims to preserve the fighting stage beetle or an existence of the fighting stage beetle culture, including making a clear understanding and positive attitude toward the fighting stage beetle for a conservation.
The result from the study, it is found that an comics can help the readers understand more about the stage beetle; however, it hasn't influenced the readers' attitudes towards this kind of these games. By using a comic to be a public media, the finding shows that almost of the respondents regarded an comics as a suitable media.

Development of Instructional Video Media : A Case Study of Tempe – Food from Soybean, Value and Production Procedure

       The purpose of this research is to develop the video media that helps instruction about Tempe – Food from Soybean, Value and Production Procedure. The methods of the research are 1. The researcher work with a professional micro biology professor to study the information about Tempe, the process of production, the nutritional value and the consuming process. 2. The script and the video media were made. 3. The video media had been evaluated, using 15 under graduates' students from the department of microbiology, faculty of science, Chiangmai University as a sample group.
From the evaluation of the experimental group, the element of visual and meaning is accepted to be the most effective and very effective. The attitude toward the media was the most positive and very positive. The meaning conveyed in the audio is also very satisfying, and the content of the media was also evaluated as very appropriate.

Postmodern Concept in Films : A Case Study of Wong Ka-Wai's Films

       The objective of this study is to analyze the relation of the postmodernism that appeared in films by studying their contents and creative form of director Wong Ka Wai that composed 8 films were produced from 1998 to 2004.
The result of this study found that Wong Ka Wai's films indicated the accordance with the ideas of postmodern art. The films contents presented the intertextuality from the allusion to other films and other medias by using those details to produce own meaning that emerged from dialogues, voice over narration, characters and the using of scene play from one film to present in another film. Moreover, those films presented the content's creation of nostalgic atmosphere by using art and culture form in the past back to present that appeared in content's presentation of period films and using olden sound track to be one part of film factors.
Film form found the pastiche by blending the differences of film genres and using styles, images, technical form from other film directors and applying music video's presentation and news to produce the films in new style. Beside those films presented the discontinuity and the contradictory form with the order of narrative caused from using the main plot more than one and the presentation of fragmentary situations by avoiding chronological order. Wong Ka Wai's films that showed mostly obvious postmodernism were "Ashes of Time" (1994) and "2046" (2004)

Designing Common Area in the House
in Lesbian Style

       This study has the objective to construct the common area regarding as the living room with the concept of "Lesbian Style". With this concept, it will be used as the model for other creative tasks by referring to this thinking process. The research tools are the questionnaire and the various living rooms pictures. The reasons for utilizing these tools are it will visualize the respondents to make decision easier and it will be convenience for the researcher to select the pictures to further design. The result shows that the first answer of lesbian-couples have the same opinion, they consider that the composition in architecture is necessary and they desire to employ the living room for multi-purposes. From the in-depth interview, the respondents agree that it is necessary to have the living rooms which can response for various activities and express warmth and private. They prefer the contemporary style as they concern for the future purpose which makes the interior design has to go follow the need of users. The research results bring in three models. The designs for lesbians focus on gentle look and privacy which are suitable for various activities. All three models are different because the selective groups are in different age and the sample models show feminine graphics.

Development of Chiang Mai Flood Disaster Warning System

       The objectives of this independent study were 1) to develop Chiang Mai flood disaster warning system and 2) to use this system as a source of information about Chiang Mai flood disaster. The study was conducted according to the following procedures. First, researcher analyzed the working process information of the organization concerning Chiang Mai flood disaster by observed and interviewed method. Then, the development and design of Chiang Mai flood disaster warning system using open source software and also the evaluation of the system were undertaken.
The result of the Chiang Mai flood disaster warning system evaluation revealed that the system could warn the Chiang Mai flood disaster effectively. The system could also be a good source of information about Chiang Mai flood disaster.
It is expected that this independent study will help preventing the Chiang Mai flood disaster effectively. It will be a good source of Information about Chiang Mai flood disaster. Additionally, it will be applied to other warning system for the future studies.

The Study and Development of Cartoon Animation for Teaching Thinking Skill for Mathayom Suksa I Students

       The purposes of the study are to develop the cartoon animation for teaching thinking skill for the students in Mattayom Suksa I. The objectives are to reform and enhance the instructional plans for thinking skills development through the Six Thinking Hats Approach to study the result of enhancement in the skills and learning achievement of the students who have learned Thai 31101 through this approach and to study the opinion of the students who have learned Thai 31101 through the Cartoon Animation.

Developing an Electronic Learning System in
Visual Art for Kindergartners

       The purpose of this study was threefold: 1) to design and develop an electronic learning system in visual art for kindergartners 2) to study the efficiency of an electronic learning system in visual art for kindergartners in the areas of knowledge, understanding and practicing skills concerning visual art 3) to study the reaction of the target students. The students were 20 third – year kindergarten students of Chiang Mai Rajabhat University's Demonstration School who were monitored during the academic year of 2005 . The target students studied Art subjects by using an electronic learning system in visual art for kindergartners, and afterwards were tested. During these sessions, the researcher observed the learning behaviors of these students.

Design of Information Architecture of B2C Typed Electronic Commerce Model: A Case Study of Chuanlhong Ceramic Shop

       The purpose of this study was to design the information architecture of electronic Commerce B2C model: for Chuanlhong Ceramic shop in the area of Information Architecture, Internet Marketing and Web Design framework. The methods of studying consist of the interviews with the shop manager, studying in organization behavior and collecting information from text book and related research. From the information that has been collected in those methods, there are three main points that need to be shown in the website. First is Information and Data. Second is Application Modules. Third is Visual Element. With these three main points the information architecture of electronic commerce B2C model has been designed and tested in order to study the audience's satisfaction.

       This independent study, "Clip Art Design in Lanna Culture", aims to study patterns of Clip Art Design in Lanna Culture, and Clip Art Design in Lanna Culture for media production that requires lanna-cultural contents. The study was conducted by collecting data from both related documents and field study; the collected data were analyzed in order to find out the patterns of lanna style readymade pictures. The author then designs new Clip Art Design in Lanna Culture. The new designed pictures were evaluated by lanna-style media production experts.

Analysis of Design for Public Relations : A Case Study of Thai Silk Village Company

       This independent study aims to study public relations of the Thai Silk Village Company which is used to promote its organization and products. The study focuses on the company's process of public relations, problems and difficulties, and co-ordination with other organizations when carrying out public relations. This study has been carried out in order to find out guidelines for public relations for the Thai Silk Village Company and other related businesses.
The study also researches public relations designs of the company which has been carried out between 1997 – 2006 (the company has registered its name as "Thai Silk Village Company" during this period) The result of this study shows that since Thai Silk Village Company operates souvenirs shops and export business, its main policy for public relations is to attract travel agencies. The company tries to impress travel agencies so that they will bring tourists to the company's shop.

Roles of Mass Media on Soccer Betting in Amphoe Mueang, Chiang Mai : A Case Study of FIFA World Cup 2006

        The objective of this study was to study of mass media on soccer betting. The population of the study was bet football and residents in Amphoe Mueang, Chiang Mai. The results of this study showed that the majority of the respondents, have a major reason that the respondents likes to betting football games because it is an easy way to earn money. In presenting football games, mass media of a television takes an interest in first place. The majority of the respondents read sports newspaper regularly in order to get the sports information. Television and Newspapers are mass media that influence in betting football. The data which the respondents receive from mass media is reliable because it is analyzed by the columnists and commentators. The mass media from the television influence in betting football, especially free live broadcasting on television. The majority of the respondents give the answers that the government should open casino legally in Thailand. Parents should look after, control and take care the descendant. Finally, government should issue a law to control media that influential to betting football games.

Development of Multimedia Cartoon for Teaching Buddhism on Sin Principles

        This study aims to design cartoon multimedia for teaching the Buddhism course on sin principles to Matthayom-2 students, and develop educational media for the Buddhism courses to make them more interesting. The study began with studying the meaning and understanding the Buddhism dharma in Chapter 3 on sin principles in the area of social studies, religion, and culture course code S 31201. In order to develop the media, graphic and multimedia design framework was utilized to plan and design cartoon multimedia, set the animation, develop the story into appropriate and comprehensible sequence, and design special features for characters to make them interesting. Framework on conceptualization was applied to set perspective and presentation to create cartoon multimedia for teaching the Buddhism course on sin principles.

The Video Media Development for Creating the Image of Benjarong Village

        The objectives of this study were to study the history and the process in making Benjarong that could be used to create image of Benjarong village and to develop the video media that could lead consumers' fulfillment of the idealistic self while experiencing Benjarong as products presenting Thai identity and the last objective was to evaluate the efficiency of the video in the area of consumers' attitude toward both Benjarong products and the village's atmosphere.

Concept and Art Element Analysis of Character and Background Design in the Animation Featured Film "Ratatouille

The analysis employed explanation method using visual arts analysis. Designing Information on Tactile Map for Visually Impaired Children in the Northern School for the Blind

        The propose of this research was to study The Designing of Tactile Map that provided to aid Visually impaired children at the Northern School for the Blind in primary level 6. 7 children with visual impairments from the Northern School for the Blind under the Patronage of the Queen in Chieng Mai were asked to learn a tactile map. In this study was used exploratory survey research to explain problems and progress, interview as main data collecting techniques and descriptive research was analyzed data. The tactile map was designed and produced as "Swell Paper" that showed route walk from Northern Blind School to Yupparaj Wittayalai School. The three tactile maps designed and addressed in this study were: Map (A) showed the condensed route walk on the round of Chieng Mai cannel. Map (B) was expanded route walk and related area and Map (C) showed the specific route that for real walk.

An Analysis of Importance of Concept Affecting in Electronic Marketplace Website Design

       The objective of this study, "An Analysis on Importance of Concepts Affecting Electronic Marketplace Website Design" was to research the influence of concepts in designing electronic marketplace websites. Research methods include literature review and interviews. Interviews were conducted with Chiang Mai internet users regarding their experience and a comparison of surfing Thai and international websites. Websites designers were interviewed regarding their experience in designing and communicating with entrepreneurs in designing electronic marketplace websites and comparing Thai and international electronic marketplace website techniques. The data was analyzed using constant comparison technique.
The result of the study found Thai electronic marketplace design lacked thought out concepts for user's experience. This effects how the website is designed. Designers have the technical skill to create the website but lack the business concepts to include persuasive selling concepts. The entrepreneurs were not able to communicate with the designer regarding how to include persuasive selling concepts because a majority of the websites are designed using the same patterns with no innovative concepts. Thai electronic marketplace design should focus on internet user's experience in order to develop Thai electronic commercial industry.
